Asunafo North Municipal lies in the south-western part of Ahafo Region and shares boundaries with Asutifi North, Asutifi South, Dormaa Municipality, and Asunafo South, as well as Bia and Juaboso Districts in the Western North Region. It covers a land area of approximately 1,411.97 square kilometres, about 27.2 percent of the Ahafo Region, and lies within the central part of the forest dissected plateau, rising gradually from 152m to 305m above sea level. The Municipality has a population of 161,419, projected to reach 171,117 by 2029, and its economy is predominantly agrarian, with cocoa as the major cash crop alongside plantain, cassava, maize, and cocoyam. Goaso is the administrative capital, while Mim is noted as historically the most populous town.
