Asokore Mampong Municipal, carved out of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly in June 2012, lies in the north-eastern part of Ashanti Region and covers about 24.17 square kilometers. It borders Kumasi Metropolis to the east, Kwabre East to the north, and Ejisu Municipality to the north-west. The 2021 population and housing census recorded a population of 191,402 (93,506 male, 97,896 female), giving a population density of about 7,879 persons per square kilometer. The municipality's geological structure has supported a small-scale construction industry, though this activity is declining as rapid urbanization proceeds.
