Twifo Atti-Morkwa District lies in the Central Region of Ghana, bounded to the north by Upper Denkyira East Municipal, to the south by Hemang Lower Denkyira District, to the west by Mpohor Wassa East District, and to the east by Assin North Municipal and Assin South District, covering 956 square kilometres. The 2021 census recorded a population of 100,851, projected at 119,820 (growth rate 4.3 percent). The district is predominantly agrarian and dominated by oil palm cultivation; the Twifo Oil Palm Plantation is a major local supplier of palm oil to Nestle Ghana Limited. Twifo Praso, the district capital, hosts a major market on Tuesdays and Fridays drawing traders from neighbouring towns.
