Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District lies in the northwestern part of the Central Region of Ghana and covers an area of 674km2, making it one of the largest districts in the region. It shares boundaries with Upper Denkyira East, Assin North, and other adjoining districts. According to the 2021 Population and Housing Census, the district's population is 66,075, made up of 49.8 percent males and 50.2 percent females, with 28.2 percent urban and 71.8 percent rural. The district is predominantly agrarian, lying within the forest ecological zone, with 57.0 percent of workers engaged in agriculture, forestry and fishing, and cocoa, cassava, plantain and maize as principal crops; Twifo Hemang serves as the district capital.
