Upper Denkyira East Municipality is one of the twenty-two administrative districts in the Central Region of Ghana, established in 2007 by Legislative Instrument (LI) 1877. It lies within Latitudes 5º30' and 6º02' North and Longitudes 1ºW and 2ºWest, and shares common boundaries with Adansi South to the North, Assin North Municipal to the East, Twiffo Atti-Morkwa District to the South, Wassa Amenfi East to the West, and Upper Denkyira West District to the North-West. The Municipality covers a total land area of 524 square kilometers, about 5.33 percent of the total land area of the Central Region. The Administrative Capital is Dunkwa-On-Offin.
